Ultrasound
In our practice, we use modern ultrasound equipment to provide you with gentle and reliable diagnostic imaging. Ultrasound allows us to examine not only the entire abdominal cavity but also the thyroid gland, if necessary. This gives us a comprehensive view of your organs and helps us better evaluate any complaints—completely pain-free and without radiation exposure. The examination displays internal structures in real time, helping us to better understand abdominal discomfort and other symptoms, as well as to accurately assess the progression of any condition.
In addition to standard imaging, we use high-quality color Doppler/duplex ultrasound. This enables us to visualize blood flow within the vessels and utilize this information during the examination of the blood vessels.
Liver Elastography
In addition to standard ultrasound, we offer liver elastography. This modern imaging technique allows us to precisely assess the stiffness and elasticity of the liver. Elastography works similarly to a standard ultrasound; it is painless, non-invasive, and involves no radiation exposure. Gentle sound waves are transmitted through the tissue, and by analyzing how these waves propagate, we can determine the tissue's softness or stiffness. This provides valuable information regarding the presence and severity of liver changes, such as fibrosis or cirrhosis.
This examination is currently not covered by the public health insurance plans. Therefore, we can currently offer it only to patients with private health insurance or those paying out-of-pocket (self-paying patients).
You generally do not need to fast for a standard ultrasound examination. We will inform you if specific clinical requirements make fasting necessary for the procedure. However, for liver elastography, you must arrive fasting (i.e., having consumed no food or drink for at least 4 hours).
For patients with private health insurance or self-payers (individual health services/IGeL), we offer liver elastography as well as specialist cardiological ultrasound examinations of the heart and the vessels of the neck and legs. Please feel free to contact us for details.
